J.
Albert Stevens was born in the rolling hills of Pennsylvania. He has
lived in New York, Chicago, and now Georgia. He put pencil to paper
at an early age and was quite talented. At least his mother said he
was. Art was a part of his life, in one form or other, from then on.
Wood carving took up a large part of his middle years, until his hands gave out. Then he put pen to paper and found his stride. He could not be still without “Doodling” as he called it. Thousands of black lines on white paper. They became a form of meditations for him. It was early in 2003 he saw the gourd art of Vincent Vangourd and knew he had to try this art form. Thus was born Gourdzooks. He hopes you appreciate his efforts.
